Dr Rashid Hassan Pelpuo (Former Minister of Labor Jobs and Employment) has released a statement, few hours after he was Reassigned from the Ministry of Labor Jobs and Employment as Minister of State for Special Initiatives on the 26th of August 2026.
Statement Below:
“I’m overwhelmed with calls all over the country and especially from the Upper West Region over my reshuffle. Thanks to all. I appreciate the new position and want to thank His Excellency the President for keeping me onboard to help push our reset agenda to a logical and successful conclusion. Service to the nation is my core mission to get what we promise the nation a paramount concern.”
The Letter was Released on the 26th of August 2026 and the Labor Minister was Reassigned to become Minister of State for Special Initiatives whilst Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum replaces him as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi was also reassigned as a Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.

President Mahama makes further Ministerial Changes
President John Dramani Mahama has made the following changes to his Government.
Hon. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo has been reassigned as Minister of State for Special Initiatives while Hon. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum replaces him as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
The President has also reassigned Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi as a Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The reassignments take immediate effect.
