The Wa-Sawla-Wenchi Road Project was awarded in November 2025 to Several Contractors to ensure work goes on as planned within stipulated timeframe of two years for economic activities to go on smoothly on the N12 Highway linking Ghana to Some Parts of Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal.

Upper West Media Team was on a tour and monitored works along the road on 22nd of August 2026. During the tour the team noticed gutters being worked on in Kulmasa in the Savannah Region,, we spoke with Danwana Justice, a resident of the Community who expressed enthusiasm, he said work was going on to their satisfaction, he also called on contractors to increase the pace at which work is being carried out for the road to be Motorable.

Gutters were being constructed at Gindabour, Yipaala and other nearby communities in the Savannah Region.

In Tuna, Gutters were constructed and some portions of the roads were tarred. Sections between Tuna and Danivaar were also being worked on.

When the team arrived at Sawla, we noticed Works ongoing between Sawla Town and St. Cyprian Senior High School.

The Road Heading to Bole from Sawla was yet to be Attended to, with several potholes along the stretch, there was a huge traffic with vehicles barely moving up to 20km/h with fear of developing mechanical faults as a result of deplorable state of the road.

Bus developed a fault along the Sawla-Bole Stretch, he appealed for the potholes to be filled up whilst work continues, he said the potholes have slowed down their work, affecting economic activities as well.

When the team arrived at Bole, gutters were being constructed whilst the Bole Town Road was also being Expanded.

It can be recalled that in August 2026, the contractor, Messrs Maripoma Ltd indicated his company was dealing with Planning and not working to impress people, he told journalists to travel to Bole to confirm the state of works ongoing along the stretch.
