The Assemblyman for the Takpo-Tuori Electoral Area in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, Hon. Alexis Anzagira, has issued a strong call to action for the construction of the long-overdue Nyore Bridge, citing it as a critical infrastructure challenge impacting the community’s development and safety.
In an interview with Info Radio over the weekend, Mr. Anzagira highlighted the dire situation faced by residents, especially school children residing in communities adjoining Takpo. He explained that during heavy rains, the existing bridge becomes impassable, effectively cutting off children from attending school and isolating communities from essential services.
“The Nyore Bridge is a major obstacle for our community. During the rainy season, children cannot cross to school, and residents are forced to seek temporary repairs that are often ineffective and short-lived,” Mr. Anzagira lamented. He noted that residents have resorted to communal labor to repair the bridge periodically, but these efforts offer only temporary relief, with the structure remaining unsafe and unusable after heavy rains.
The Assemblyman appealed directly to the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for Nadowli to prioritize the construction of a durable and reliable bridge. He emphasized that this infrastructure is vital for ensuring safe passage, promoting educational access, and fostering community development.
Mr. Anzagira’s call underscores the urgent need for government intervention to address infrastructural deficiencies that hinder progress and jeopardize the safety of residents in the Takpo-Tuori electoral area. The community remains hopeful that concerted efforts will soon lead to the construction of the Nyore Bridge, transforming lives and enhancing connectivity in the community .
