Tension has reportedly risen in Gindabuo in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of Ghana’s Savannah Region following the reported deaths of a teacher and a police officer in separate incidents.

The teacher, identified as Mr. Abu Seidu, of Gindabuo D/A Primary School, is reported to have died following an encounter involving police officers stationed along the Gindabuo- Kanchen road.

Preliminary accounts allege that police officers stopped Mr. Seidu while he was travelling to his farm on 17th September, 2026, but that he failed to stop. He was subsequently found dead, with reports indicating that police officers were transporting his body to Gindabuo.

In a related incident, a youth from Gindabuo is also reported to have died following alleged mob action involving a police officer identified only as Owusu.

Details surrounding the reported death of the police officer remain unclear and have not been independently verified.

According to preliminary information, both bodies have been conveyed to a morgue by the police as investigations into the incidents continue.

The two reported deaths have reportedly heightened tensions between residents and security personnel, with concerns over possible further confrontation in the community.
