Top Fintech Voices, a leading industry media platform, has unveiled its 2026 list of Africa’s most influential fintech personalities — a curated cohort of founders, regulators, innovators and operators driving the continent’s digital finance revolution.
Among the 28 voices featured this year, 20 are fintech founders and firm leaders from organisations such as Hubtel, BigPay, TapTap Send, Clydestone, Brassica Pay, Eganow and Payaza.

Frank Anwelle, Country Director for Payaza across Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, has been recognised as one of Africa’s Top Fintech Voices in 2026. At Payaza — a Pan-African payment gateway infrastructure company operating in over 20 countries — Anwelle leads strategic expansion, regulatory engagement and the rollout of scalable payment solutions for businesses across West Africa.

Anwelle brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience across telecom, mobile financial services and fintech. Before joining Payaza, he served as CEO of FINCRA Ghana and Country Manager for DPO Group Ghana, with prior roles at Vodafone Ghana (Telecel), Airtel Ghana, Millicom (Tigo), Zeepay and First Atlantic Bank.
Beyond his corporate mandate, Anwelle is the Founder and CEO of the Anwelle Foundation, a social-impact initiative focused on youth empowerment, education and community development in Ghana. The foundation was officially launched on September 25, 2026, in Jirapa in the Upper West Region, with a pledge to invest in education, youth empowerment, sustainable livelihoods and rural development.
“Being named among Africa’s Top Fintech Voices is both an honour and a responsibility,” Anwelle said. “At Payaza, we’re building the rails that allow African businesses to trade seamlessly across borders — and through the Anwelle Foundation, we’re ensuring the next generation has the skills and opportunities to thrive in this digital economy.”
The remaining 19 honorees recognised alongside Anwelle for their contributions to Africa’s fintech ecosystem include Romeo Bugyei (IT Consortium, Ghana), Jeremy Quainoo (_able, Dubai/Ghana), Ernest Apenteng (Hubtel, Ghana), Isaac Tetteh (BigPay Ghana, Ghana), Abioye Oyetunji (FXKudi, Nigeria/Ghana), Alex Bram (Hubtel, Ghana), Tenu Awoonor (The Blu Penguin, Ghana), Richard Bansah (AppsNmobile Solutions, Ghana), Paul Jacquaye (Clydestone, Ghana), Sebastian Quansah (Fido, Ghana), John Apea (eTranzact Ghana, Ghana), Ebenezer Ghanney (WeWire, Africa/NA), Jones Amegbor (PayAngel, UK/Ghana), Abdul-Jaleel Hussein (Affinity Ghana, Ghana), Thomas Baafi (Bsystems, Ghana), Mary Boateng Coleman (Brassica Pay, Ghana), Darryl K.
