Tumu in the Sissala East Constituency
The Sissala East Municipal Police Command has served notice to residents that it would be bringing back the mandatory wearing of crush helmets effective Monday, December 21, 2020.
The notice was served to residents particularly motor riders as part of the Command’s commitment to enforce the Motor Traffic Regulations within the Municipality starting from the slated date.
To this end, the Police Command has ” hereby advised the general public to comply with the Traffic Regulations especially wearing of crush helmets to avoid arrest and instant prosecution”.
It would be recalled that about 5 people who were riding without crush helmets have, in separate accidents, lost their lives through motor crashes in the last two months.
Meanwhile, many residents who spoke with Radford FM News have welcome the decision to reenforce the mandatory wearing of the crush helmets in the Sissala East Municipality.
