The Member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency, Hon. Anthony Sumah has introduced the maiden edition of Volley ball Competition in the Nadowli-Kaleo District.

The Participating communities included, Nanvilli, Takpo, Sombo, Nadowli,Sankana, Kaleo and Charikpong.

Statement

“Earlier today, I was in Nadowli to launch the maiden edition of the MP’s inter community volleyball tournament. This intervention is part of my agenda to see the development of sports in the constituency.

In all, 7 teams competed for the conveted trophy in the male division whilst two teams battled it out in the female division. Spring Fingers Volleyball Club, Nadowli. won the male division whilst the Charikpong team emerged victorious in the female competition.

The winners took home the coveted trophy, gold medals of champions, a set of jerseys and a volleyball. The first and second runners up received silver and bronze medals respectively, as well as a set of jerseys and a volleyball. The remaining teams got a volleyball each.

It is my fervent hope that this will go a long way to reignite the passion for sports amongst the youth whilst fostering peaceful coexistence among the various communities in the constituency.
