Assembly Member for Kpaguri Electoral Area,Hon. Osman Nurideen (Left), Signpost of The School (Right)

Assembly Member for Kpaguri Electoral Area, Hon. Osman Nurideen has Narrated that Dr. Hilla Liman Technical University isn’t Supportive to their Electoral Area despite benefiting from their parcels of land.

In an Interview with Upperwestmedia Team, he noted that the Land was his Grandfather’s Farm and that they expected Management of the University to Admit Students of Kpaguri into the School to Study various courses as their corporate Social Responsibility.
The Assembly Member went further to add that some monies should have been paid to Landowners of Kpaguri by the University’s Management but they have turned their backs to Kpaguri Community.

“Wa Poly Doesn’t Assist Us, the reason why I say this is because the Issue is in Court, some people have come out to support us, we used to farm there and Management of the University has destroyed our farm lands and produce in order to set up the school, the Unfortunate issue is that the school is failing to recognize that The Land was issued to them by people of Kpaguri, there has been a misunderstanding between us and some other people, but if they have decided to listen to other instead of us, we will keep working to address issues, we are all aware that a school such as Wa Poly should be able to admit students from our electoral area or accept some number of students from the Wa Naa, Regional Minister and other Stakeholders, we have students from Kpaguri attending the school but not because the school has offered them scholarship but rather because they applied for admission, as we sit now there isn’t any direct benefits coming inn from Wa Poly to people of Kpaguri I’m appealing to Wa Naa and other Stakeholders to assist us in getting this issue addressed, if that doesn’t happen, there will be misunderstandings at the end of the day but we won’t prefer violence to be the solution, let’s make it a harmonious  discussion, I’m old enough and I have the facts I’m not speculating.”

Dr. Hilla Liman Technical University was formerly located at Wa Secondary Technical School with it’s Administration at the Wa Municipal Health Directorate.
