A violent clash between rival youth groups from Kambali and Jengbayiri in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region has left several people injured and two motorbikes destroyed.

According to information gathered, the conflict is believed to have originated from an altercation at a nightclub on Sunday night involving members of the two groups. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a series of retaliatory attacks in the early hours of Monday morning, 8th June 2026.

Sources indicate that at about 3:00 a.m., suspected members of one of the groups stormed the Nima Camp area, where they allegedly vandalized property belonging to a person believed to be a leader of the camp.

The situation worsened later in the day when two young men from Kambali reportedly rode motorbikes into the Nima Camp area. Eyewitnesses claim they were attacked with cutlasses, sustaining various degrees of injuries. Their motorbikes were allegedly set ablaze and extensively damaged during the confrontation.

Several individuals are reported to have suffered cutlass wounds and other injuries as a result of the clashes. The injured are currently receiving treatment, although authorities have yet to officially confirm the exact number of victims.
