The Headmaster of Wa Islamic Senior High School, Mr. Alhassan Bafaara has issues a statement after fire ravaged a girl’s Dormitory of the school known as Wahada House on the 2nd of August 2026.

Several properties were destroyed and affected students were permitted to go home, prepare and return for the rest of the term’s activities.

Yeah.Around 7:30, when the students have moved from their dormitories to the classroom, there were a few left, and the dormitories were about to be locked.

All of a sudden, it was observed that there was some sparkles in the dormitory, and the alarm was sounded, and we all rushed there, called the fire service in the place, and in about thirty minutes time, they came down and put out the fire.

No, thank God there was no casualty.

Now, because the affected students are traumatized because they have lost some property, we are asking them, those affected students, to go home and come over the weekends, whilst the others are relocated into some classroom blocks because the form threes have written and left, and we have some space in the classrooms to accommodate them.
