The Upper West Regional Chief Imam’s Educational Endowment Fund has raised a sum of Two Hundred and Thirty Six Thousand, Two Hundred and Seventeen Ghana Cedis (Ghc236,217) in Cash and Pledges on its fourth Edition Held at the Upper West Regional Library in Wa on Saturday, 29th – August – 2026.

The Program was chaired by Bihee Naa Naatasung Jafar Pelpuo, Chief of Bihee Traditional Area in the Wa Metropolis.
During the Fund Raising Durbar, There were calls for donor support to Assist brilliant but Needy Children in the Society as a mechanism to reduce streetism, increasing number of School dropouts and drug abuse amongst the youth as a result of frustration over absence of support.

Theme of the occasion was ‘Uniting Against Youth Violence Through Education and Peace Building; Our Collective Responsibility’.

Council Chairman of the Fund Boonaa Jamal Kpegla advocated for regular support of the Fund Raising Program adding that consistent fund raising can assist the Chief Imam’s Educational Endowment Fund in training more skillful and resourceful youth for Development.

The Upper West Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing Donated Six thousand Ghana Cedis, The Mayor of Wa, Alhaji Danwana Donated Four thousand Ghana Cedis, Antika Company Limited Donated Five Thousand Ghana Cedis, Alhaji Adams Iddrisu Thirdman(Headmaster of Wa SHS) Donated One Thousand Ghana Cedis, Abdul Rahaman Zakaria also Known as Marcus, the Deputy Director of CTVET Donated Three Thousand Ghana Cedis, Lawyer Ubeidu Sidique a Renowned lawyer Donated One Thousand Ghana Cedis, The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Pledged Twenty thousand Cedis, Alhaji Alhassan Uthman Gbangu Donated One Hundred and Twenty Thousand (Ghc120,000).

Several other Donations were received with a total Financial Record as Follows:

Cash and Cheque – 108,217 Ghana Cedis
Pledge – 128,000 Ghana Cedis
Total – 236,217 Ghana Cedis
