Alhaji Alhassan Adams, popularly known in political circles as Chairman Randy, has officially declared his intention to contest the Upper West Regional Chairmanship of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the party’s upcoming regional reorganisation.

The declaration marks a return to a political journey he began in 2022, when he contested the same position against the incumbent. Although he did not emerge victorious at the time, Chairman Randy remained active around the party and continued to support its activities, members and initiatives across the region.

This time, he is returning to the contest with experience from his previous campaign and a message centred on service, unity and strengthening the party at the grassroots.

Chairman Randy made his declaration in Nandom, his hometown, where he sought and received the blessings of key stakeholders and NDC Constituency executives before formally setting out on the new political journey.

The Regional Chairman hopeful said, the choice of Nandom was symbolic. It was not simply an announcement of political ambition, but a homecoming and an opportunity to begin the journey from the community that shaped him.

“My long standing ambition is known by the rank and file of the party but announcing the decision today is a renewed interest as the NDC party members and stakeholders prepare for the regional reorganisation”.

As the process unfolds, Chairman Randy is seeking to convince delegates that his experience as a businessman, politician and long-standing commitment to the party makes him the right person to provide leadership and direction for the NDC in the Upper West Region.

According to Chairman Randy, the journey is already familiar. Having contested, lost and remained committed to the party, he now returns to the starting line with one clear objective: to lead the NDC in the Upper West Region.
