The Former Upper West Regional Organizer of New Patriot Party(NPP) Mr. Alaska Braimah Nala Kanton has officially Declared his intention to contest in the Parliamentary Race of Sissala West Constituency after the recently Concluded Regional Executive Elections which took place on 15th August 2026.

He contested for the position of Regional Chairman but unfortunately lost to Alhaji Aziz Abdul Rahaman also known as Chairman White who Secured 173 Votes. Alhaji Alaska Braimah Nala Kanton on the other hand polled 86 Votes.

In a statement released in 6th of November 2026, Mr Alaska Braimah Nala Kanton Declared his interest.

In line with the directives of the National Council of our party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), I have today, Friday, November 6, 2026, officially declared my intention and interest in contesting the 2028 elections on the ticket of the NPP in the Sissala West Constituency.

The last time New Patriotic Party (NPP) succeeded in taking over the seat of Sissala West Constituency was in 2017 by Hon. Patrick Adama, it was reclaimed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020 election year by Hon. Mohammed Sukparu.
